Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! Well here is my card for the first The Paperlane Challenge for the New Year! I can't believe how fast the time flies.
Well, for this challenge you have been asked to create a card that has been inspired by a book. I thought long and hard about this one! I eventually chose a very personal favourite "Wheel of Fortune", which is the autobiography of Edith Piaf. If you want to have a look at it, you can find it here.
I really wanted to try and evoke the colour and mood that Piaf was known for, and of course her home city, Paris. There are subtle hints of sparkle here and there - but not too much!
The Magnolia images (Shabby Eiffel Tower and Paris Tilda) were coloured with warm grey Copic markers only, and then had Antique Linen distress ink smooshed all over it to get the colours I needed. The papers are Graphic 45. The postmark stamps are Cavallini stamps. There is a quote in the book which I love. It is:
"Better to live than to vegetate. I like that phrase. I adopted it a long time ago."
I should bear that in mind sometimes! Thanks for looking! Please leave a comment, I would love to come and visit!
